Kemmishtree is the online name of Kent Kemmish, the founder of Molecular Reality Corporation. It is the byline on the messages he sends to members through EQBio-OS, the signature on at least one page of the company's website copy, a word in the headline of the company's About page, and, in the company's fiction, the name of the human to whom the mascot Keltar whispers.[1][2][3] Kemmish says that the name is part his own and part a pun from a lab partner.[4]

Name

Kemmish explained the name in the essay that was the landing text of the company's game site in 2025. "But who am I?" it asks. "Call me 'Kemmishtree.' It's partly my actual name, and partly a silly pun that a lab partner gave me years ago." The essay then lists the questions a reader might ask about his schooling, credentials and employers, and replies: "You can easily find all that out, but it's not what matters."[4][a] His full name, Stanley Kent Kemmish, Jr., is the one on his patent, US 10,908,144, and on his CV.[5][6]

Use

Bylines

EQBio-OS shows each message with a sender. When the inbox opened on March 28 and 29, 2026, with more than twenty messages, most of them carried the sender line "Kemmishtree", and a few came from characters such as the Quartermaster.[7] The first, titled "welcome", begins: "You're looking at the operating system of a real-life biotech startup, Molecular Reality Corporation."[8] The byline stays when the speaker changes. "Welcome to my Minds" is written in the voice of the company's cartoon demon, Maxine, who introduces herself as Maxwell's demon.[9] "Call me" is written in the voice of Keltar, and its last paragraph, in parentheses, warns about the chatbot that voices him: "it's not me, it's just the shadow of me. If you really want to talk to me, you gotta talk to Kemmishtree, to hear what I'm whispering to his mind".[10]

Company copy

The company's About page is headed "Join Kemmishtree in our Club to Cure All Diseases".[1] One page of the website copy of February 2026 ends with the line "I hope you will join me in this Epic Quest!" and the signature "Cheers, Kemmishtree".[2]

The YouTube channel carries a video titled "Kent Kemmish(tree) Presents Demonpore inc.", in which the persona is written into the person's name as a parenthesis.[11]

Keltar's field guide of August 2026 answers the question "Who are the humans, and how much of the story is true?" with a sentence about him: "The founder is Kemmishtree, the human I am said to whisper to, and the person whose hands built most of what you see."[3]

In other voices

The company's other voices refer to him in the third person. A prepared answer for the company's chatbot, asked what became of the CoronaPore project, says: "If you really want to hear about why that didn't work out you gotta talk to Kemmishtree, but you might ruin his and your day, and it is time to move beyond trauma and create joy and glory and hope in the world."[7] The company persona called the Quartermaster wrote in March 2026 of the pore arrays made in 2020: "Kemmishtree has a bunch of arrays like this sitting on his table."[12] In Epic Quest Bio, a quest worth 10,000 experience points, "Play G.C.", read: "For actual lawyers only, consult with Kemmishtree on corporate law questions."[7] The quest has since been switched off.

In the company's fiction

Keltar's profile page dates his arrival to 2012, when his "femtotech-felt form first bridged the dimensional divide to commune with our founder Kent Kemmishtree".[13] In the March 2026 message "Call me" he is "personal tulpa to Kemmishtree". The founder and the puppet appear together as the founders of the Church of Sequence Space, which company accounts date to 2012 or 2013.[10][7] A company record of May 2026 gives the founder's title as "Director of MSC", the abbreviation of the Molecular Streaming Corps.[7]

Notes

  1. ^ Spoken aloud, the name is close to "chemistry". The essay does not say whether that is the pun.
