Products and sites Molecular Reality Corporation no longer runs

This is a list of retired products of Molecular Reality Corporation: web pages, sites and software that the company built, ran for a time and then switched off, most of them in 2025 and 2026. Some lasted a few weeks. The code of several of them is still in the company's website software, disconnected.[1]

molstream.com

In the first months of 2025 the company built a portal at molstream.com that introduced the "MR1 Molecular Streaming Device", a handheld research instrument then being prepared, and offered a question desk run by the mascot Keltar. Work went on in the same months on a "Molecular TV" with a turning hypercube, an animation that survives in its files as a GIF of about 40 MB.[1] The site is no longer online. In May 2026 the company's chatbot instructions still said "We are not ready to ship MR series Molecular Streaming Devices", and in October the company gave the name MR1 to a different instrument, the MR1 Nanopore Reader.[1][2]

Standalone keltar.ai site

The address keltar.ai was registered on August 23, 2024, for a site of Keltar's own.[3][1] The separate site was later retired. Keltar moved to a page of the company's main site, where a voice line lets visitors talk to him, and the company's guide still describes keltar.ai as the address that "points to my own little page, where you can talk to a live version of me".[4][1]

Mind Field

In February 2026 every conversation a member had with the company's chatbot, Maxine's Mind, became a "Mind". The server gave each Mind a 103-character "genome string" and drew it as a recolored portrait of Maxine, the company's red cartoon of Maxwell's demon. The Minds drifted as sprites around a shared world, the Mind Field, updated 20 times a second and growing with the number of Minds. When two members' Minds came within 60 units of each other, the server opened a new thread with the message "Two minds have collided in the Mind Field! Welcome" followed by both names.[1] The page asked that "All conversations with Maxine's Mind should be treated as public domain".[1]

On March 24, 2026, four days before the members' inbox opened, the standalone chat was archived, and the name Minds of Maxine passed to the inbox's stream of scientific papers. The simulation's code is still part of the website's software, but no page loads it.[1]

Music Box of Life

Added in June 2026, the Music Box of Life turned a sound into a creature. A visitor recorded or uploaded audio, and the software analyzed it, transcribed any speech, drew random numbers from a quantum random number generator, and sorted the result into one of eight phyla: drone, pulse, filament, orb, swarm, crystal, voice and glitch. Any transcript longer than five characters made the creature a voice. Each creature played its own four-part musical loop, and creatures dragged close together drifted toward each other's tempo, by up to about 40 percent; the code's description says that "Two close beings end up locked-in like coupled metronomes."[1]

The first creature was made from a six-second clip of synthetic speech whose transcript read "Hello, my name is MusicDocs. This is a test of the speech transcription pipeline." It was a voice, and its transcription cost one cent.[1] The page was disconnected on June 29, 2026, when the company rebuilt its front page.[1]

Tab front page

For seven weeks in mid-2026 the company's front page was a single page of tabs. Work on it began on June 29 with a commit titled "Waypoint 1: Tab-based SPA layout and skeleton", and a second that day made "Streaming default view with replay, chat, and controls" the opening tab.[5][6] Other tabs held a sign-in, a carousel of the laboratory's samples, pores and flow cells, an essay on RLMF and an invitation to join. The banner over the stream promised "100 hours of molecular streaming in 100 days to start feeding our nanopore world model."[1] On August 18, 2026, a plain front page with a contact form replaced it, and the tabs were archived.[1]

Transcriber

The Transcriber was a page that turned speech at the laboratory bench into text for a voice-driven laboratory assistant. A commit of June 23, 2026, is titled "Fix transcriber agent-reply panel covering the top of the page."[7] It was retired on October 14, 2026, by a commit titled "Retire transcriber: comment blueprint import/registration, remove admin nav icon". Its speech recognition still serves the microphone button of the chat beside the live stream.[8][1]

Renamed

Several names were retired while the things they named carried on. demonpore, inc. became Molecular Reality Corporation in 2021. In April 2025 the game Epic Quest Biotechnology became Epic Quest Bio. The Molecular Streaming Services Corps became the Molecular Streaming Corps, though a paper sign on Keltar's mug still reads "M.S.S.C.". The instrument design called Sentinel and then Daemon Pore became the MR1 Nanopore Reader on October 18, 2026.[1][4][9]
