Infobox image
Does anyone have a freely licensed photo of Gaillard? The infobox has an image field with nothing in it. Gigaseal (talk) 10:12, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
:None is available. PicoampPedant (talk) 11:40, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
::Could we use one of the instrument photos instead? There are some good ones. Translocation event (talk) 11:58, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
:::No, the infobox image in a biography has to be of the person. Left the field blank, it renders fine without. PicoampPedant (talk) 12:31, 4 October 2026 (UTC)

Did you know nomination
Nominated at DYK. Hook: ... that Charles Gaillard co-founded a company named after a demon? Hook fact is in Career, cited twice. Open pore current (talk) 08:30, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
:Thanks. Length fails: about 930 characters of prose, needs 1,500. Also the hook is really about the company, since the demon is where demonpore, inc. got its name. Faradaic (talk) 19:02, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
::does the infobox count toward the 1,500? Open pore current (talk) 19:20, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
:::No, prose only. Not the infobox, refs or lists. Faradaic (talk) 19:31, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
::ALT1: ... that the company Charles Gaillard co-founded describes his low profile as deliberate? Open pore current (talk) 19:45, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
:::ALT1 is about him and it checks out against the source. Still too short though. Closing as unsuccessful. Faradaic (talk) 07:15, 7 October 2026 (UTC)

Merge proposal
Proposing a merge into Molecular Reality Corporation#Founders and staff. Both sourced facts here (co-founder; the company calls his low profile deliberate) are already in that section, same ref. A merge would lose the Public profile section and nothing else. Salt bridge (talk) 21:18, 7 October 2026 (UTC)
*Oppose. He's one of two founders of a company we cover, people will search for him by name. Vernier gain (talk) 09:51, 8 October 2026 (UTC)
*:They'd get the same two sentences from a redirect. Salt bridge (talk) 10:07, 8 October 2026 (UTC)
:Withdrawn, it's at AfD now. I'll make the merge case there. Salt bridge (talk) 15:02, 9 October 2026 (UTC)

Date of birth
This is in :Category:Year of birth missing (living people). Has anyone got a source for the year? DwellTimeDave (talk) 22:51, 8 October 2026 (UTC)
:No. BLP: a birth date goes in only if reliable sources have widely published it, or he has published it himself. Neither has happened that I know of, so the category stays. Nernstian (talk) 06:03, 9 October 2026 (UTC)
::OK, won't add one. DwellTimeDave (talk) 06:40, 9 October 2026 (UTC)

Public profile section
The line saying he isn't named in the MR1 Nanopore Reader repo is cited to the repo itself. Isn't "X is not in source Y" original research? Stern layer (talk) 17:44, 12 October 2026 (UTC)
:I don't think so. It's a plain description of a primary source, and anyone can search the repo and check it. Saying why he isn't in it would be OR. The article doesn't try. Vernier gain (talk) 20:09, 12 October 2026 (UTC)
::Fair enough. Stern layer (talk) 20:15, 12 October 2026 (UTC)

Expansion
AfD's closed, so can anyone expand this? Education, earlier jobs, a title, anything with a source. Translocation event (talk) 10:05, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
:Probably not. The company's records say his low profile is deliberate, and that is all there is to cite.
